It's ready for another cooking weekend, and this time we're also celebrating our 6th anniversary!
As is tradition, we invite you to a birthday weekend – also in 2026!
We've now been open for 6 years (!!), and of course we have to celebrate. We're doing that by inviting some familiar faces and dishing up a whole weekend filled with fantastic food and a great atmosphere.
On Friday evening we will serve Kvitnes Gård's tasting menu, and on Saturday there will be an exclusive 6-hands dinner. The number of courses on Saturday has not yet been fully determined, but as usual the dinners will last about 4 hours.
Who we've invited this time will be revealed soon – but save the date now. This is going to be really cool.
We are so excited to celebrate this weekend with you!

On Friday we have check-in from 4 pm. The sauna is warm and there is fire in the fireplace.
On Friday we start with the Kvitnes experience and our tasting menu. Tour of the farm at 5:30 PM, and the actual food service begins at 7:00 PM. -
Breakfast is served at the table and a shared lunch is served later in the day.
During the day, there is plenty of time to take a mountain hike, enjoy the sauna or read a book in the fireplace room.
In the evening, Halvar creates a menu, together with our guest chefs. This year we have 3 chefs visiting, who will all prepare 2 dishes and some snacks each. Dinner starts at 6 pm.
After dinner, there will be a birthday pub in Gulfjøsen. -
Anders Erlandsson
Anders is coming! By day he is the head chef at Panu in Oslo. If you haven't been there yet – go there. Fuck you. Insanely good value for money.
Anders has a long career and a wild CV. In Oslo he has worked at Cru, Baltazar and not least the legendary Pjoltergeist. After Oslo the trip continued to Copenhagen, where he worked at Geranium. A perfectly good restaurant, Geranium that is – three Michelin stars and voted the world's best restaurant.
Then he went on to Alchemist. That's no joke either: two Michelin stars and 5th place on The World's 50 Best Restaurants. There he was nothing less than an assistant chef. That's a decent level, then.
Emil Thorsvik
Emil is coming! Emil and Halvar were together on the national culinary team when they were both young, where they ran the dessert section together.
He studied and worked for a long time at Strand in Bærum, where he was actually the head chef for Leik – who is now the head chef at Kvitnes. After Strand, he moved on to Palace Grill, where he ran the kitchens for many years. Rumor has it that he is the one who has worked there the longest. He left last fall.
Now he's looking around a bit and working for Aker – running catering and having fun. Emil is a fun guy, extremely good at cooking and a guy you're always happy to have around.
He has also worked at the Gastronomic Institute in Stavanger, Café de France and not least 69 Catering and Banana Caravan.
Svein Trandem
Svein is coming! Svein and Halvar worked together at Palace Grill. After a while, Svein got tired of Halvar and found something else to do – easy to understand.
After Palace, he worked at Aymara, before moving on to Stockholm as sous chef at Ekstedt – a restaurant that only cooks over an open flame. It may sound rustic, but throw in a Michelin star and you'll understand the level.
Eventually he moved back to Oslo and opened Einer, which was long considered one of Oslo's best restaurants. After it closed, he opened Madonna in Bjørvika – a really good restaurant you have to eat at the next time you're in Oslo. They even have lunch on Fridays and Saturdays! Not many good shops offer that – stall tips there, that is.
He also runs the newly opened Oslo Sandwichshop.
